The Importance of Community Support

Last week our neighborhood lost a wonderful little shop - a store filled with character and

characters and which within a few months of its opening became an anchor for the small commercial district. Not only does the loss of this resource affect the customers of the store, but it also affects the work NatureHood does within the community. The owners and employees of the store were highly supportive of the various activities NatureHood conducts in the neighborhood. Their support greatly enhanced the visibility and viability of our little events.

Time moves on and so does life. Since 2014 the commercial district on Cherry and Pickwick changed several times, with some businesses closing and new businesses moving in to fill the void. The ebb and flow of life. Old friends move on and new friends await our first meeting.

The support of the residents and businesses of the Rountree Neighborhood is amazing, and none of our events or efforts could occur without the donations, volunteers, and public relations the great residents and business owners offer.

NatureHood seeks to connect people with nature. One way we do that is through our events in our own neighborhood. It is indeed true that one person can make a difference in this world, when people work together the magnitude

of the effect is so much greater. The wonderful business owners in our neighborhood are an integral part of everything we hope to accomplish.

While it is with great sadness we lost a fun and enthusiastic friend in Homegrown Food/Rountree Grocers, we look forward to working with the new friends on that corner.

Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished. ~Lao Tzu
